In the picturesque setting of Lucerna Palace, in the heart of Prague, a globally significant meeting dedicated to the climate crisis took place. On May 11, 2024, experts from every corner of the globe convened under the auspices of the ALLATRA International Public Movement to discuss looming challenges and innovative solutions needed for a sustainable future.
The meeting saw participation from representatives across various disciplines, from academia to media, civil society to volunteers of ALLATRA and the Creative Society project from over 35 countries. The primary focus was to tackle the escalating threat of climate disasters, examine the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, and analyze the implications of the crisis for global democracy.
“Climate change is a challenge that knows no national borders,” stated Dr. Egon Cholakian, a renowned expert in national security and intelligence, representing ALLATRA. During his address, Dr. Cholakian underscored the importance of coordinated global engagement, commending the movement’s action in promoting a concerted response across nations.
Marina Ovtsynova, President of ALLATRA International Public Movement, expressed gratitude to participants for their commitment and dedication in pursuing the shared goal of creating a safe and prosperous future, free from the threats of the global climate crisis.
Olga Schmidt, President of the Creative Society International Project, highlighted the crucial role of the United Nations in facilitating international cooperation to address climate change. “We can and must work together to create the conditions necessary to find solutions to the climate collapse,” Schmidt emphasized, stressing the importance of inclusive and transparent collaboration.
During the meeting, climate experts Dr. John Ahn and Taliy Shkurupiy presented a detailed report on recent developments in climate change research, emphasizing the urgent need for concrete actions to mitigate the devastating effects of the environmental crisis.
ALLATRA International Public Movement and the Creative Society International Project reiterated their commitment to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and actively contributing to the understanding and management of global climate change.
